Broadwater Parklands, Gold Coast
The park directly opposite our building. Here's what's actually there.
What's in the park
Broadwater Parklands is a long stretch of foreshore park running along Marine Parade in Southport. It's the kind of park that looks nice in photos and is actually better in person.
- Walking and cycling path along the Broadwater (flat, good for running)
- Outdoor gym equipment
- Large playground — one of the better ones on the Gold Coast
- Picnic areas with barbecues
- Boat ramp and jetty
- Water sports hire (kayaks, SUP) nearby
- Shaded grassed areas — good for an afternoon
Events held here
The park is the main venue for Gold Coast's biggest annual events:
- Gold Coast Marathon — start and finish, July each year
- GCAC swim competitions — competitions use the adjacent aquatic centre
- Broadwater festivals — various events through the year
Getting there
From 136 Marine Parade — cross the road. That's it. For everyone else: the G:link tram (Southport South stop) runs along Scarborough Street, about 5 minutes walk from the park entrance.
